Christmas 2008

Here are just a few pictures of Michael's First Christmas! We had a nice, relaxing day. His favorite part was the wrapping paper. Instead of getting excited to tear open the gifts, he was happy to eat the paper...yum! Hope your Christmas was as wonderful as ours!

Excited to go downstairs Christmas morning

We made blueberry muffins for Michael's Christmas breakfast - he loves them!

Slowly tearing open gifts

Playing with Aidan after Christmas dinner - Aidan was very kind in sharing his new toys with Michael!

My friend, Sarah, tagged me so here we go:

This picture is in Annapolis back in September. Michael and I visited our family in MD for a few days in between my mom's trips. We had a good time downtown with mom, Ash, Jen, Jake, and Hailey. Fun times :-).

9 months....WOW!

Michael turned 9 months old on Thanksgiving day!!! You know what this means?! Only three months until our baby is ONE YEAR! I seriously am in shock. Jason took Michael to his nine month check-up today. It went really well. We usually try to guess what his weight/height are before we go. At his six month check-up Jason was right. This time, I was right :-). Michael's pediatrician was very happy with his growth and development so far. She mentioned wanting to keep an eye on his head due to a jump in percentile. But, she said she wasn't concerned. He has Kanaly genes in him, so he's going to have a big head :-). When Jason told her that Michael is cruising (i.e. - walking with the help of furniture and Mommy/Daddy hands), she said that it won't be long before he is walking. Oh my!

length - 29 1/4" (80th percentile)
weight - 20 lbs. 5.5 ounces (50th percentile)
head - 19" (95th percentile)

November

Michael and Buddy (on the couch) have become closer!

Uncle Ryan, Kyler (my new cousin), Daddy, and me on Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving (my 9 month birthday too) - I had turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, and some roll...oh, and I LOVED it....video will come later.

Sporting the hat....orioles logo on the other side (I am a Phillies fan...just don't tell Daddy)

I think that's about enough pictures of me for now!

Michael's Dedication

All dressed up before church

The dedication with Pastor John

The family :-)

On Sunday, November 16th Michael was dedicated at our church. Afterwards, we had our family over the house for lunch (and the football game). Ever since then our little angel is sleeping great. Friends from church had jokingly told us that once a child is dedicated, he/she sleeps better. Man, we should have done that a long time ago :-)!!!

Our little Monkey

Since I was pregnant with Michael we have referred to him as our little monkey. He was quite the mover, often kicking and waking us up in the middle of the night. Now, he is still quite the mover and he keeps us entertained. So, the nickname fits....and the costume was only natural.

Jason and Michael

On Saturday, October 25th, we took part in the American Heart Association's Heart Walk. Despite the forecast for rain, the weather was pretty decent until the walk was over. Thank you to everyone who supported us and prayed for the event!!!

Eyes

Michael gets a lot of compliments on his gorgeous eyes and I realized we don't have many pictures that show just a close up of them. We are a bit biased, but we did want to share the cuteness that we see every day :-).

Give this a caption too!

Ok, so try giving these pictures a caption! I dare ya! Leave us a comment and let us know what in the world our son is doing or thinking. (Hint: He is NOT pooping!)

Apple Picking

A few weeks ago I picked up the October issue of Rachael Ray magazine while I was at the store. In this month's issue, she had done a feature on fall things to do in PA. One of the places that was mentioned was Hopewell Furnace National Park. There was information on picking apples at this park and I had been wanting to find somewhere close to go. So, a group of us went on Friday. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a good time! Today, we made applesauce together with the apples we had picked. In the words of Rachael Ray "Yum-O"!
