Evan's 4 month appointment
Evan at the Doctor's today anticipating the shots
Our little man was quite the flirt with the nurses and our doctor today....until the shots. He had been smiling, laughing, and talking to them but quickly became serious ----> then very angry. Once he settled down he would pause, think about what had happened and then start all over again. Much different than Michael was...he would cry for a little bit at this age and then be done. Evan is pretty easy going until he gets mad or upset. Then he lets you know. I love seeing how different these two boys already are in so many ways. So cool how God has made them each unique.
The doctor said Evan is doing really well. He is 26.5 inches (90th percentile), 16 lbs. and 1.5 ounces (80th percentile) and 17 1/4 inch head circumference (85th percentile). Looking good, little man!

Evan's "2 month" appointment
Evan turned 2 months on August 11th, but we just had his appointment today due to our trip to MD to see family. The Dr. was quite impressed with how long he held his head up while on his belly. I think he was showing off for her because when he was supposed to be all done he picked his head up higher and smiled right at her. What a boy ;). Her eyes got big when she saw his growth. Our "little peanut" had quite the jump on the charts since his last appointment.
Birth (6/11): 21", 7lbs 15 oz.
1 month (7/14): 22 1/4", 9lbs 15.5 oz, 15 1/4" (head)
"2 months" (8/31): 25 1/4", 13lbs 11oz., 16 3/4" (head)
Evan is a great sleeper and has been since the very beginning. Before you leave negative comments, just know that we already went through the horrible sleeper when Michael was a baby. It seemed like it would never end. Also, Evan is pretty laid back. But, when he gets upset about something he goes from 0 to 10 pretty quickly. He loves being outside, especially the beach. His favorite part of the day is seeing his big brother in the morning. I am not even making that up. He usually looks around while laying in his crib until he hears Michael's voice. This morning I brought Evan downstairs and Michael came looking for us, meeting us at the bottom of the stairs. When the two brothers saw each other's faces this morning there was nothing but pure joy. It just melts my heart thinking about their reaction to one another. Evan, like his brother, is a cuddly boy. He's cute, smiley, giggly, and overall a sweet little boy. Jason found Evan's first ticklish spot two nights ago. He definitely hams it up for us at night when Michael goes to bed. It's been fun seeing his little personality develop and watching him and Michael interact. We definitely love our boys!!!

December
I figured December, specifically Christmas time, deserved its own post. We were able to put out more decorations this year and Michael did really well with everything. His favorite thing to do each morning was to turn on the Christmas tree lights. This year was really fun with him as he enjoyed opening presents more, seeing lights, drinking hot chocolate, watching my favorite Christmas movie (White Christmas), and so much more.
The first snow of the Winter.
We took Michael out for a walk and he insisted on going down the slide. We were laughing so hard when he came down the slide into a major snow puddle. He thought it was great!
Decorating the Christmas tree
Michael really enjoyed helping decorate
The star is up...only a day later than the rest of the decorations!
Michael and his girlfriend, Kaylie, making eyes at each other. Although, it looks like Michael is staring off somewhere else.
Santa visited our neighborhood. Michael wanted nothing to do with him. Maybe it was because this guy was skinny and young....Michael knows that Santa is neither.
Hot Chocolate in his own mug
Big snow
Michael sitting on the car before we cleaned it off
Our "sleigh" or wagon! Michael discovered throwing snowballs. He loves to especially throw them at mommy.
Self-family portrait
Sledding without a sled
Playdoh with Kyle
Putting baby Jesus in the Manger on Christmas morning
Ripping open gifts - slowly but surely
Notice the monkey pajamas and monkey slippers - his Christmas Eve gift
Pretending to eat his play food
I love when he sits like this....so adorable!
Playing on his new lego table
Eating overnight surprise (sticky buns) after opening gifts - the Kanaly family tradition
Michael and Aidan playing with the fish magnetic puzzle
Playing peek-a-boo
Jason's parents came up from MD yesterday. This dump truck was one of the cool toys Michael got from them. It talks, dances, snores, does push-ups, etc. It's entertaining for all of us.
Michael and Grandpa watching Daddy fly his new helicopter that he got from his parents.
