Random!!!

Here are some random pictures over the past month!

They include:
  • A trip to NYC to see the taping of The Rachael Ray Show (the daytime program) - which will air the day before Thanksgiving...you might see us! This trip was with my brother, Mike (his birthday gift), my friend, Jessica (from college), and my friend, Becca (from work).
  • Jason's brother, Ryan, got married the end of October, so we included a picture from that event.
  • Our day at Linvilla Orchards with Mike, Michelle, and Aidan.
  • Jake's (Ashley's son) birthday party - a costume party!
  • Our pumpkin (it's a bat in case you can't tell!)

The Nursery, now and then!

The week after Disneyworld we decided to take on the task of the Nursery. Jason and I painted the ceiling, as our friend, Karen, suggested it be the best first step. The next day, I headed to a conference in MD and Jason continued the room by painting the walls. Karen and Jason finished up a day later by finishing the trim, painting clouds on the ceiling, and putting the wall lettering up (as seen in the picture). Apparently, Buddy (our cat) enjoyed himself too as he stepped in paint on the window sill.

This upcoming weekend, Jason and Matt (friend of ours) will replace the carpet with a faux wood floor. Then we'll put the crib together, place the furniture, and also install a closet organizer. Almost there!! We'll post more pictures throughout the process!

This room was our guest room as you can see in the before pictures!

25 Weeks

Heather and I have had a week of poking and prodding. Well not for me, for her and for the baby. Not that the baby really gets prodded either, the baby gets scanned, and we get the alien like pictures we'll see below. We'll have another appointment with the OB coming up in three weeks to go over the results of the these pictures. Well in the meantime enjoy the ultrasound photos.

No longer a goat baby, but vaguely resembling Skeletor.

See the resemblance.

Now the baby looks like it's attempting to copy Alfred Hitchcock

Fill in your own funny caption here. I couldn't think of one.

I've counted there are five fingers and five toes. That's a good sign.

That could be six, but I'm pretty sure it's five.

Isn't the baby cute. The mother isn't half bad either.

Disneyworld...better late than never!

We had a great time in Disneyworld back at the beginning of October. Sorry it has taken us so long to post pictures! Life has been a bit crazy, but we're hoping things will be slowing down soon. While we were in Florida, in addition to spending time with family, we were able to catch up with friends we had not seen in a long while! These are just some of the millions of pictures we took that week. These include the pics of us with friends, picture of the entire family minus Ashley and her crew and my nephew, Andrew (hence why there are additional pictures of them). There is also a picture of one of the family dinners we had (sorry, not everyone is in the picture).

Oh wow!

We are both so excited as we sit here writing this blog tonight! Lots of amazing things going on with us....at least we think so :-). Before we left for Disney World, I was able to feel the baby move for the first time. It felt as if popcorn was popping in my belly....such a cool feeling. Then, we headed to Florida a few days later and had an amazing time! We got to see friends down in Florida we haven't seen in a long time (and miss a lot) in addition to spending time with my entire general family (21 people)...craziness! We returned Saturday night and despite both having colds we were excited to start working on the nursery. Our errands on Sunday included buying paint and finding wall lettering for the baby's room. Buddy Holly (our cat) hasn't been so happy that we won't let him in that room. He probably will be even more unhappy once we bring the baby home and he doesn't get our undivided attention anymore!

Last night I was watching TV and falling asleep on the couch (Jason was out) and all of the sudden I started feeling something. I quickly felt my belly and realized "The baby is kicking me"! It was soooo cool. I sent Jason a text message but he didn't get it til later and I wanted to tell somebody but it was 10 at night and everyone was sleeping. So, in my excitement I just fell asleep.

Today, we went for our 20 week ultrasound and we got to see our baby for 50 wonderful minutes!!!! The tech. took so many pictures just to measure different parts of the baby's body along with amount of amniotic fluid and parts of the umbilical cord. The baby was on its' back the entire time (minus 10 seconds) so the tech. couldn't take a good look at the spine. So, we get to go back in a few weeks just for her to take more pictures. We don't mind though because we'll get to see the baby again. Our baby currently weighs 14 oz. and is measuring about 6 days ahead of the due date (2/26/08). The tech said that is normal and I'll still keep my due date. They only change it if the baby is measuring bigger or smaller by 14 days or more. The tech was doing her best to keep from the baby's "private parts" as we want to be surprised. But, at one point she went around the baby's legs and he/she spread them wide open. Neither Jason nor I knew what happened until she told us, so we still don't know the sex of the baby....and we don't mind.

Then tonight, just before we got on the computer I felt the baby kicking again. I quickly got Jason to feel my belly and he was actually able to feel the baby kicking too! Such a fun thing to share together!!!

A Good Doctors Appointment

Heather had an 18 week checkup this week. It went very well. We got to hear the heartbeat again. It was very strong. The doctor said that everything looks good. Heather and the baby's size and weight are right on track with where she should be. As we get closer to February we're getting more excited.

Here are couple pictures to wet your whistle. The 20 week ultrasound will take place on October 9th. We'll post those pictures shortly after. First, Walt Disney World here we come!

Pictures.....eventually?!

I finally have a belly picture that one of us will post hopefully sometime this week. Maybe we'll post some other pictures too. That's the one thing that I know our blog is missing. I was being lazy because I didn't want to have to go through the process of taking pics off the digital camera and transferring them to the computer. But, yesterday I took a few pictures and got the message "Memory card full". We literally have a couple hundred pictures on that memory card that we now have to do something with....talk about motivation.

Jason is away on a guys weekend at the beach. They went deep sea fishing yesterday and from what I understand are overall having a great time. I must say that I have loved stretching out on the bed by myself this weekend. But, I think Buddy (our cat) is preparing me for the baby's arrival. Friday night he heard me get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom so he thought I was up permanently. So, he decided to run around the room and ended up knocking over a candle, other random things on the bureau, and a tall lamp. This happened just as I was falling back asleep....what a crash that was. Then last night I think I heard him playing downstairs around 4am....fun stuff. I had to more or less "play dead" though because if we even turn in bed he hears us and thinks it's time to get up. He came upstairs shortly after and wanted to cuddle. But he can't sit still....he kept putting his paw on my face when I would fall asleep as if to say "Wake up and pet me". Craziness! Between him and this baby, I'm tired!!

In short:

1) We're planning on putting pictures up this week (by we, I mean Jason will but he doesn't know it yet :-))
2) Don't get a pet unless you are prepared for interrupted sleep. We were told by friends when we first got married that having a pet is a lot like a baby. Obviously Buddy isn't as needy, but he sure can seem like it at times. He is quite cute though.

Hope you will all have a wonderful week! Enjoy this amazing weather!!!
